Hi, I’m Gary Corneer
I am Gary Corneer a retired high school Industrial Technology instructor, and a high school Dean of Students. My chocolate lab Charlie and I work to create unique projects using repurposed, antique, vintage, or recycled materials.
I enjoy many outdoor activities which include fishing, camping, and hunting. I often find myself roaming the riverbanks and forests with Charlie looking for items I can incorporate into my craft.
My work is a combination of both traditional and modern craftsmanship, using basic hand and power tools. The type of work that I do can be referred to as repurposing, that is, the use of something for a purpose other than its original intended use. Once that is completed, it can then be considered as "upcycled,” which defines it as an item of a higher value than the original item.
Whenever possible I incorporate recycled wood, antiques, and rustic items I find or purchase. Some of my finishing techniques match what many years of use and/or aging would look like. The end result can be an item for home or office decor, or simply a whimsical item to be placed where it finds its new home.
I am the sole creator of all of the my products. No assistants are employed in creating my work, except my dog Charlie. On occasion, I purchase items such as rusty metal pieces, wooden wheels, and so forth to enhance the work that I do.
